Matcha Sour

Start romanticizing your life and bring out your main character energy with this matcha gin sour cocktail. This brilliantly green caffeinated gin cocktail is the perfect pick-me-up happy hour drink after a long and busy week. This simple 6-ingredient gin sour recipe can be made in under 3 minutes and is simply phenomenal.

Most cocktails that include tea as an ingredient generally incorporate it via steeping, generally in a spirit. This Japan-inspired sip from bartender and distiller Allen Katz, however, sees matcha powder added directly into the drink along with the other ingredients.

Cooking Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake vigorously until well-chilled. (You may wish to dry-shake—without ice—first, then add ice and shake again to chill.)

  2. Strain into a Collins glass over fresh ice.

  3. Serve with a straw.
